An organic grocery store in downtown Muncie? Yes! The Downtown Farm Stand is one of Muncie’s best kept secrets. The all organic grocery store and deli provide fresh, local ingredients to Muncie residents. Offering a wide variety from Indiana bison and pastured meats to organic produce and local milk, eggs, and honey, The Downtown Farm Stand carries all the basic necessities and then some. Not only does the grocery store offer local food items, but also various Indiana beers and wines perfect for a special occasion or just winding down after a long day of work.

The deli’s casual atmosphere and friendly service make the restaurant one of my personal favorite lunch spots. The spinach melt served on house-made whole grain bread with garlic-chili aioli creates a delectable combination. You won’t want to trade this deli delight for a PB & J at the lunch table! The side of seasonal fruit provides a refreshing bite after a spicy kick from the garlic-chili aioli.

The deli also serves a wide selection of seasonal salads and homemade soups. The vegetarian chili, one of my favorites, is sure to warm you up on a cold, winter day. Hot tea, fair-trade coffee, and Kombucha compliment any meal.
