Looking for a tranquil oasis in the heart of Muncie? Look no further! The Island, located on the Cardinal Greenway next door to Olive Garden, offers cyclists, runners, students and professors alike a relaxing place to unwind. Most widely known for its smoothies, The Island menu also includes ice cream, fresh fruit and brownie sundaes.

After biking a mere four miles, I take a pit-stop at this hidden gem to cool off and see what the fuss is all about. My friends were right, The Island is an awkward, but seemingly cool haven surrounded by a tall wooden fence and filled with sand. Palm trees and a twenty-foot tall waterfall complete the tropical feel.

Upon my arrival, I park my beach cruiser and order the mandarin orange passion fruit smoothie. I kick-back in a hot pink Adirondack chair and wait for the attendant to bring my frosty treat.

A gorgeous pink-orange color, the smoothie provides a refreshing tropical taste. I highly recommend the mandarin orange passion fruit smoothie. The next time your looking for a cool treat or to simply unwind and forget about your cares, checkout The Island.
