Even in the dead of winter, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil can be warm and sultry. The only thing to relieve you is the brisk ocean breeze and cold gelato. Leo L’arte Gelato Italiano is a premiere gelato boutique just a few blocks from Copacabana Beach. Offering an array of flavors, the gelato shop attracts tourists and locals alike.

Prepared by hand daily, the gelato includes all natural ingredients. The modern architecture and store design enhances the cool, Italian vibe and provides a unique atmosphere for indulging in one of my favorite treats.

While trying to block Barry Manilow’s Copacabana from my mind, I select the mint chocolate chip, black and sweet cream gelato. The black is a lovely dark chocolate and the sweet cream is a rich vanilla. The three flavors compliment each other nicely and provide my taste buds with a delectable dessert.

Whether after a long day of shopping or soaking up the sun on Copacabana Beach, I highly recommend stopping at Leo’s for a dish of tasty gelato.
